the first time i left lahore and became and ex-lahori, was on 14th august. it was weird to say the least. i expected lahore airport (the old one) to be covered with jhandis and stuff, but i guess the adminstration is not that into jhandiyas and is not that patriotic =P my flight was delayed hours, so we came back home. on the way back we bought spout (is that the gum’s name?) the one that has that liquidy stuff in it.

and now everytime i leave lahore it’s just an attempt to take all the views of lahore in the short trip that i make from wherever i’m staying to the airport(s). a bittersweet trip if you ask me.

I left Lahore on June 07, 2001 at the age of 21.I was born, lived, studied and worked there. What a great city, now I am living in US. Still in love with my city. My father was a pure Lahori, may his soul rest in peace. I remember he took me all the famous eating places in the walled city of Lahore, for Halwa Poori, Paye, Nihari ….Yum Yum. The last of Lahore as I remember was from the window of the airplane while it was taking off from the Lahore airport it was a very sad and hurting feeling to leave my city and country. I am really hoping to visit Lahore to see my family and friend this year.
I am a very regular reader of LMB, you are doing great work for Lahoris that are not living there any more. Keep up the good work.
