"no best is lahore karahi and mirch masala in tooting"

Mirch masala is great..next best after home cooking :P I take my homesick desi friends there and they are never disappointed. Their problem is their popularity, no sooner have you finished your food they want you out, especially over weekends, as there is normally a queue of gorays and gorees outside eager to get in.

I was introduced to it by my gora friend who himself is in catering (read has taste). Too bad the Tooting branch was not there when I used to live almost across the road from where it is.

Could not get myself to try Lahore Karahi so far…From outside the environment looks same as in Ichra or Mozang – all those bright white tube lights with everyone staring everyone else…you feel almost naked in there, not being used to staring anymore – living in west. :P If they dim tehir lights a bit that will encourage more families to come.

btw, most "Indian" restaurants as they are collectively called here are run by Indians and Bengalis but the few Pakistani restaurants are miles ahead in quality and they stand out. Pakistanis just do not tolerate bad food. Indians and Bengalis have no sense of taste…no offence.

My vote for best Pakistani restaurant in London goes to ‘Tayyab’s’
Amazing food. Another plus point, its not that heavy on your pocket either. Very good value for money.
